$2,449.99The Fender® American Vintage II series presents a remarkably accurate take on the revolutionary designs that altered the course of musical history. Built with period-accurate bodies, necks and hardware, premium finishes and meticulously voiced, year-specific pickups, each instrument captures the essence of authentic Fender craftsmanship and tone. Just one year after launching the Broadcaster®, Fender received a cease-and-desist telegram from the Fred Gretsch Mfg. Co. and was faced with renaming its flagship electric guitar. Taking inspiration from the booming growth and expansive reach of television, the first blackguard Telecaster rolled off the line in 1951, and the model has been in continuous production ever since. Deceptively simple and totally groundbreaking, the Telecaster® brought the solid body electric guitar to the masses, inspiring countless musicians along the way. The American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster features an ash body finished in Butterscotch Blonde to capture the tone and look of the original. The substantial '51 "U"-shaped hard rock maple neck plays like a dream with a 7.25" radius fingerboard and vintage tall frets. Characteristic of production in 1951, 12 th fret face-dot spacing is narrow and the sole Phillips-head fastener on the guitar is at the truss rod nut. The triple brass saddle bridge, single-line "Fender Deluxe" tuners and Pure Vintage '51 Telecaster pickups deliver classic twang and authentic Fender style. The instruments in the American Vintage II series are direct descendants of the original Fenders: designed for players with a fine appreciation for vintage Fender tone and feel and built with unmatched quality, down to the last screw. During the late '50s and early '60s, the popularity of Fender musical instruments flourished, and although the Fender assortment had expanded to include many great new instruments, the Stratocaster® reigned supreme. By 1961, the Stratocaster had taken on a more refined aesthetic, with a 3-Color Sunburst reformulated with a more vibrant red and bolder black edge, topped with a 3-ply pickguard accenting the Strat's signature curves. Featuring a premium alder body, a trio of Pure Vintage 1961 Stratocaster pickups and a medium "C"-Shaped maple neck mated with a 7.25" radius slab rosewood fingerboard, the American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster reproduces the quintessential tone and feel of the original. What are the best guitars for beginners?
The best guitars for beginners have to be both affordable and high-quality, so that you don't have to struggle and can enjoy excellent tone. We recommend that all beginners start with Taylor guitars, particularly the Academy, GS-Mini or Baby guitars, as they are affordable, North American made and easily adjusted by a skilled guitar tech. Many of our customers have a limited budget, or want a guitar they don't have to worry about taking to the camp fire. In this case, we recommend Yamaha guitars as excellent entry level guitars. We have found that they stand out from the competing in terms of their build quality, playability and they are remarkably durable. In summary, the best guitars for beginners are Taylor and Yamaha guitars. However we always recommend that beginners purchase the best quality guitar they can afford, that way they can enjoy the experience and have an instrument that they can grow into. And the worst guitars for beginners tend to be old ones, with rusty strings and high action (where the guitar strings are hard to press down). In that case, we often recommend getting a fresh new Yamaha or Taylor to get started. Once you move from beginner to intermediate, we have an entire world of professional, top shelf guitars to enjoy from Bourgeois, Collings, Santa Cruz, Lowden, Huss & Dalton, Preston Thompson and more!
