Dan Salomon – Dan opened Northern Lights Music in March of 1978 after graduating from Franconia College where he studied bass and fingerstyle blues guitar. With over 40 years and running in music retail, Dan still enjoys sharing his love of guitars and servicing the musical community of Northern NE and beyond.

While seeing the Jefferson Airplane, The Who, BB King and the Joshua Light Show at a Tanglewood show in August of 1969 when he was 14, he pretty much decided that the music world was the place he wanted to be. He started noodling on his Dad’s dusty old Martin O-15 and also turned into a music store rat in Worcester, Mass., where he lived and he’s still a music store rat over 50 years later!

He enjoys playing locally on bass, steel guitar, electric and acoustic guitar and is interested in a variety of styles. His main personal use instruments include a 12 fret cut-away Santa Cruz OO-42, his 1975 Alembic Series I Bass and his '65 Stratocaster as well as a Santa Cruz fretless True Acoustic Bass, a 1959 Gibson Grand Console steel guitar and a Fern 7 string Koa Weissenborn lap steel guitar.
