It features Old growth Brazilian Rosewood of the quality seen in the best vintage instruments and European Spruce chosen from master stock from the Italian/Swiss border are the materials of choice. To enhance the playability, a shorter (25.25 inch) scale and Tony ’s slim neck profile with 1 11/16” nut width provide fast and effortless action. The heirloom tone woods and intelligent design make this instrument the quintessential contemporary bluegrass dreadnought. Santa Cruz Guitar Company's interpretation of this wonderfully sized instrument is in response to players' demands for this traditionally sweet sounding guitar. SCGC’s ability to achieve surprising volume and presence in a smaller-bodied instrument gives the Style 1 a solid position in the contemporary guitarist’s repertoire. This beautiful Indian Rosewood/Adirondack Spruce guitar sports a 1 3/4" nut width, 2 3/16" bridge spacing and a 24.75" scale length for easy playing! It’s custom features are Adirondack Bracing attached with hot hide glue, Cocobolo body/fingerboard and peghead binding, a 1929 style rosette, Cowboy Rope rosette and top border purfling, bone bridge/ends pins and an unattached pick-guard. It just doesn’t get any better than this! This model has the exact specs of this shop's owner's #1 guitar that was modeled on a 1926 OO-42 that he had a long time ago. It is perfect for all kinds of finger-style. It plays like a dream and is very responsive to changes in touch and has rare and inspiring tone. It boasts Tier 1 Brazilian Rosewood (see photo of the set that we selected) sides and back and Adirondack Spruce top and bracing attached with hot hide glue. It has a round neck profile, 1 13/16” width nut, 2 5/15” bridge spacing and a 24.75” scale for incredible ease of playing, even on difficult arrangements. The guitar boasts “42” style body and fingerboard inlays. The Cutaway allows great fret-access on this 12-fret model and lends a modern touch to a very traditional look.

At Lowden, they only consider a signature model for someone who has played their guitars consistently for a long time and the legendary Richard Thompson has been playing Lowden guitars for many, many years! Richard chose this wood combination and other specifications because of the really full-bodied loud and clear response of Figured Ziricote and AAAA grade Red Cedar. The 5 piece Mahogany, Rosewood and Walnut neck feels solid and is topped off with elegant Gotoh Gold and Ebony 510 tuning gears. It comes with a deluxe hard shell case.

This guitar has killer sound and looks. It features a highly figured Bearclaw Aged Tone Sitka Spruce. The sides and back are Figured Mahogany. It also has a great looking Ziricote fingerboard, headstock overlay, and belly bridge. The tone is aided by Aged Tone bracing attached with animal protein glue.
