The combination of the stiff Adirondack spruce top with enlarged soundhole, supported by a top bracing pattern based on the earliest 14-fret dreadnoughts, make the CW a bluegrass powerhouse. Everything about this model is designed to provide plenty of headroom and projection for aggressive playing, but not at the expense of good tone. With hard shell case.

It received a Slotted diamond fretboard inlay conversion by Custom Pearl Inlay of Malone NY and a new bone nut and saddle installed in the early 90s. It has repaired binding, installed vintage nickel Waverly tuners, enlarged and slotted bridge pin holes and plugged and touched up a screw hole where a strap button was installed. With a Calton case!
