Used 1890's Fairbanks "Special Electric" Banjo

Beautifully crafted with many interesting details this late 1890s Fairbanks "Special Electric" open back banjo is a feast for the eyes and ears! Featuring an ornate and fascinating heel carving. The Abalone inlays on the headstock, heel and the back of the headstock all feature scrimshaw. The pressfit tuning pegs on the banjo are delicately carved bone. And the back of the banjo has lovely wood purfling bound in white binding for an extra deluxe look. This was clearly a carefully crafted and high end model for the time. Beyond the luxurious appointments, the sound of this banjo is beautiful. It is loud, harmonically complex and sweet sounding. Comes with a chipboard case.
