The S-12 is a small-bodied mahogany and spruce Lowden model, with fairly deep sides. At 14.5" wide, the guitar is roughly the shape of a Gibson LG-2 or a classical, but with a body depth that is just slightly tapered between 4" at the neck heel to 4-1/4" at the end pin, the instrument projects much more volume and bigness than one would otherwise expect from a guitar of this size. The instrument has that classic Lowden tone, but in a smaller sized package. Very strong fundamental, thick and punchy midrange, strong and well defined trebles, and an articulate bass end. The guitar is quite loud, and has excellent balance across the strings. In excellent condition, the guitar is crack-free and shows minor scratches to its satin-lacquer finish. Frets are level and largely unworn, and the guitar is very nicely set-up. Endpin drilled for a pickup jack that's been removed, strap button added to the heel of the neck. Gold Gotoh tuning machines, ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddles. 5 piece mahogany and rosewood neck, walnut bindings, maple, mahogany and rosewood purflings and rosette. From renowned builder, George Lowden, this is a great gigging guitar that sounds as good plugged in as it does acoustically. Acoustically, this satin finish, 30 year old guitar sounds warm and broken in. It features a Cutaway, Sitka Spruce top, and Indian Rosewood sides and back. Conditionwise: The back and sides are nearly 100%, the top is about 95% with a few very small dings and signs of play and a clear pickguard that covers a spot with light play wear. Overall, it looks really good for 30 year old guitar that was loved. The frets have light wear and have good life left in them. The orignal hard shell case is in very good condition.

This spectacular guitar from Lowden in Northern Ireland plays and sounds just great! It boasts Koa bound Master Grade Sinker Redwood top and Master Grade African Blackwood, one of our favorite wood combinations. The 5 piece neck feels incredible and is made with a 5 piece rosewood and mahogany laminate. The fingerboard is Ebony with Maple binding and has custom Abalone Leaf inlays. It has a 1 ¾” nut, 25 ½” scale and 2/14” string spacing to give it an easy playing feel. The cutaway and bevel add to your playing comfort. This satin-finish guitar is in excellent condition with slight signs of wear and no signs of overplaying or abuse. It comes with its original hard shell case.

This is one fantastic cutaway guitar, the premier Signature Model from legendary Lowden Guitars! The Richard Thompson Model features a Cedar top and a cutaway. The back on this one is a beautiful set of Ziricote with sapwood. This guitar is in excellent condition and only shows slight signs of play. There is a noticeable scrape in the edge of the finish along the binding on the rear lower bout (see photos). The frets are great and the saddle looks fresh with full height. The tone on this guitar is just beautiful. It comes with its original hard shell case.

This beautiful compact Lowden S-35M is a true treat to play. Being a comfortable 12 fret instrument this guitar plays with minimal effort. The tone just sings. Mahogany is a classic guitar tone wood that delivers rich warm sound in spades. This particular mahogany is a gorgeous figured wood both on the back and sides as well as the top. The figuring has a lush curl that extends from end to end of each piece of wood. Truly mesmerizing. When I play this guitar it has a great resonance that enlivens every note. Perfect for intimate finger style playing and light picking. The rich tonal complexity invites one to explore further into the tonal palette this instrument offers. Bold yet articulate this compact guitar is a joy. This instrument was gently and carefully handled by its single owner and displays only the light wear one might expect of such a well loved guitar. Little to no fretwear. There is a a little wear on the binding but you have to really look and feel closely to notice and a small patch of buckle rash on the back that you have to really search for to see. Overall this instrument is in excellent condition. Comes with a nice Hiscox hard shell case with the Lowden logo on the front.
