Looking for a guitar with wow factor? Collings does it about as nicely as anybody. This gently used OM1 Mh SS VN is exceptional and in excellent overall condition. Hog top OM guitars are not common and this one has a couple of features that set it apart even further. This OM is short scale (thus the SS) making it super easy to play and the VN stands for Vintage Now neck carve, so a little different from the standard Collings neck. It is a slim modern carve, but with just enough V to fit the crook of the hand. Everything about this guitar makes you want to play it more and more, stunning craftsmanship. My favorite thing about this instrument is the nice warm, dry and round tone of the Mahogany top. It really rounds out the tone as Collings guitars are known for having a crisp articulate tone already. This guitar is in excellent overall condition, with little to no fret-wear, and light pickguard wear. This instrument is just about as nice as they come and whoever nabs this one is going to be lucky!

An Adirondack Spruce top supercharges this square-shouldered 14-fret dreadnought, the most popular steel-string acoustic guitar body shape in the world. We are the original sellers of this one-owner National 1.5 which features elegant and understated engraving. Like the originals, this Style 1.5 Tricone is built with a Brass body and cover plate — the same, unique alloy used by the Dopyera Brothers. And like those guitars, the body, cover plate, and tailpiece are nickel plated and polished to a mirror-like shine. The mahogany neck is finished in a rich, warm burst and fitted with an ivoroid-bound ebony fingerboard. The vintage-style tuning machines work on the classic slotted headstock, topped by the famed National shield decal. This CW Series dreadnought is designed for maximum power and volume. It features an Adirondack top and bracing, no tongue brace, an enlarged soundhole and Indian Rosewood back and sides. It features a 1 23/32” nut width and a 2 1/4” belly bridge. Named after the well-loved Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas, the Collings Winfield is a highly modified version of our standard dreadnought that features options commonly requested by flatpicking specialists. The combination of the stiff Adirondack spruce top with enlarged soundhole, supported by a top bracing pattern based on the earliest 14-fret dreadnoughts, make the CW a bluegrass powerhouse. The neck plate shows a number consistent with 1967 The body shows an "R" in the neck pocket that indicates it was made in 1966 The neck is undated and stamped with G. Garcia which indicates that is a late 1970's neck Rewound and potted pickups, replaced pots 70's style tuners Refinished body (and maybe some neck overspray?) Non-original tweed case We've gone through it and set it up with nice low, correctly intonated action and it's ready to ride into the decades ahead!
