Brazilian Rosewood

Hand built by master luthier Preston Thompson and his team, this is a powerhouse modern traditional flattop. Shipwreck Sinker Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides yields a wide-open sound and is complimented with a master-selected Red Spruce top. It is gig-ready with an Amulet M Dual Mono pickup system. This rare guitar is in excellent condition with nice low action and only the lightest signs of play.

The OM Grand has everything that an OM has plus a more volume, bass and punch. The wood combination on this guitar can’t be beat, Brazilian Rosewood/Moon Spruce with advanced X Adirondack bracing/hot hide glue. The 1 3/4” nut width makes it roomy and comfortable to play. It is in excellent to near mint condition with only light signs of play. Koa on the bindings and tail strip add beauty and the abalone rosette, purfle combo top border, Brazilian overlay with abalone logo, diamond & squares short pattern fingerboard inlay, gold Waverly tuners with Snakewood knobs and Ebony bridge/end pins with abalone dots all are custom features that put the experience of playing this guitar over the top. It comes with hand-tooled leather cowboy hard shell case.

Beautifully topped with Italian Bearclaw Spruce, this parlor-size instrument yields a sound you would expect from a larger guitar. This custom SD, in excellent condition with only light signs of play, has a killer combination of features! Long favored by country musicians – and additionally popular with a variety of American roots stylists – the Slope D is widely regarded as a superb choice for vocal accompaniment. This one’s short scale neck has a roomy 1 13/16” width nut for easy fingering. We hand selected the Brazilian Rosewood set and Aged Tone Adirondack Spruce for this guitar with Dana Bourgeois at his Lewiston, Maine shop. The tone is enhanced with Aged Tone Adirondack Spruce bracing attached with animal protein glue and Aged Tone body finish. This is a fine flatpicking guitar but also would serve well as a fingerpickers’ Dreadnought-of-choice. With its original hard shell case.

This Dread in excellent condition offers miles of old-school Brazilian Rosewood punch! This guitar is a National Geographic styled story, set in the 17th century, telling the tale of two seeds germinating in the Americas over 7,000 miles apart. The sides and back of the guitar are sourced from The Milagro tree, a “miraculous” Brazilian rosewood tree that is estimated to have germinated in the early 1600s. Mother Nature blessed this spectacular Brazilian rosewood tree with an unforgettable and unparalleled tone. When struck, it can resonate like glass with unmatched sustain and projection. This guitar features a salvaged Sitka spruce top, hand-selected by Tom Bedell. This 400-year old Sitka spruce tree has gifted us with beautiful tonewood featuring warmth, resonance and sustain, offering a distinct grain pattern that enhances both the visual and aural aspects of the wood. Combine Milagro Brazilian rosewood and Sitka spruce and you get a once-in-a-lifetime miracle. W/original hard shell case.

Bourgeois guitars pulled out all the stops on this Soloist built for the 2015 NAMM Show. This gorgeous sounding, well cared for guitar is in near mint condition with only slight signs of play. The top is an incredible set of Bearclaw Figure Swiss Spruce and is mated with Premium Brazilian Rosewood on the back and sides. It’s neck feels great and the cutaway affords easy access to higher frets. It was kept in a smoke-free environment and comes with its original hard shell case.

This Custom OMG has it all, beautiful woods and beautiful tone. The easy-to-play OMG size is just a little bigger than an OM but it has a much bigger sound that yields more volume and bass. This incredible guitar is in near-mint condition with very little signs of play. The combination of holy-grail tone woods and appointments make this custom guitar a must-have! The tonewoods are Old Growth Brazilian Rosewood body with a Moon Spruce top and Advanced X Adirondack braces attached with hot hide glue. It features all Koa binding on the body, fingerboard, peghead and tail wedge and custom Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard, Bridge, Rosette and headstock overlay. It has a Purfle combo top border and the SCGC logo in abalone on fingerboard with no other fret markers. The stylish look is completed with Ebony bridge and end pins with abalone and Gold Waverly tuners with Snakewood buttons. It comes with a hard shell case.

This beautiful Brazilian Dread from Dana Bourgeois is in great condition for a 20 year old guitar. It has no issues and is ready to play and enjoy for many years. It has all the volume, warmth and depth that you would expect from a well aged, broken instrument. The angle is great and it plays like butter. There is a professionally cleated repair on the back of the guitar which is why we rate the condition as “very good” vs “excellent”. Otherwise there are very few signs of play beyond a little fret wear and a few very small dings. The case is in good condition and is fully functional though one latch is missing. The photos and videos here are of the shop-owner’s OO-42 cutaway, his #1 guitar that was modeled on a 1926 OO-42 that he had a long time ago. It is perfect for all kinds of finger-style. It plays like a dream and is very responsive to changes in touch and has rare and inspiring tone. The guitar that is available now for pre-order has identical specs. It boasts Tier 1 Brazilian Rosewood (see photo of the set that we selected)sides and back and Adirondack Spruce top and bracing attached with hot hide glue. It has a round neck profile, 1 13/16” width nut, 2 5/15” bridge spacing and a 24.75” scale for incredible ease of playing, even on difficult arrangements. The guitar boasts “42” style body and fingerboard inlays. The Cutaway allows great fret-access on this 12-fret model and lends a modern touch to a very traditional look.

This gorgeous one-owner Martin Dreadnought features Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and a tight-grained Sitka Spruce top for that classic “Holy-Grail” tone. This D-41 model plays easy with nice low action and has been well cared for. There are no dings, dents or scratches on the neck, back or sides. There is one small ding on the top and the pick-guard shows signs of play, not surprising to find on an over 20 year old instrument that has great broken-in tone. It comes with it’s original hard-shell case.
