This mint condition 2021 custom OMS cutaway combines a slotted headstock, 1 13/16" nut and a 25.5” scale neck to recreate a classic design coveted by fingerstylists – and not a few flatpickers. For superior tone, we selected the Cocobolo and Redwood top at the Bourgeois shop and also chose appointments like the Koa binding, DB Signature Herringbone purfling and Snakewood Waverly tuners. It comes with a hard shell case.

This guitar has killer sound and looks. It features a highly figured Bearclaw Aged Tone Sitka Spruce. The sides and back are Figured Mahogany. It also has a great looking Ziricote fingerboard, headstock overlay, and belly bridge. The tone is aided by Aged Tone bracing attached with animal protein glue. We are the original sellers of this guitar. It is in excellent condition with only light signs of play on the guitar and frets. We personally selected the woods for this custom 12 Fret OMS cutaway with the guidance of Dana Bourgeois at his shop in Lewiston, Me. Once we had selected this spectacular Cocobolo set, we matched it with a great sounding Italian Spruce top and then decided that they were the perfect tonewoods to make into a spectacular 12 Fret OMS Cutaway. Every detail of this OM Brazilian was meticulously spec'd by Ben here at Northern Lights taking inspiration from a 1930s style OM-28 but with a modern twist adding an understaed bear-claw Adirondack top and sunburst. Here is a video we made of our visit to the Bourgeois factory in Lewiston, Maine. We interviewed Dana Bourgeois about his guitar philosophy and juxtaposed those words with video of his small crew hand crafting these fine guitars. As you can see, it is like something from the old days, so much hand crafting and attention to the details. At each step in the guitar construction process skilled luthiers carefully complete their task. Whether it be carving, sanding, stringing and setup each stage requires experience and care. This is what makes these Bourgeois guitars so great.
While Bourgeois has broadened their global reach through their Eastman collaboration called the Touchstone series, all other series such as the Professional, Heirloom, Legacy, Agetone etc... are completely hand crafted in the USA at the Lewiston factory under the watchful eye of Dana Bourgeois.
