Northern Lights Music | Acoustic & Electric Guitars
Northern Lights Music is an authorized dealer for many of todays finest guitar brands, both Acoustic and Electric.
We are proud to offer Collings guitars for sale, Santa Cruz guitars and Alembic guitars. Whether you are searching for acoustic or electric guitars for sale we have you covered. Our extensive inventory features both new and used guitars for your consideration!
While we have been a long time dealer for Taylor Guitars, Bourgeois Guitars and Fender Custom Shop our selection has expanded in recent years. Our customers love Lowden guitars, of Ireland, Preston Thompson guitars and Huss & Dalton guitars have become some of our best selling brands. Another iconic brand we now represent is Rick Turner guitars and basses.
The guitars we carry are made of some of the finest materials available. Old growth Adirondack Spruce, Bearclaw Sitka, Sinker Redwood and Cedar are among our favorite top woods. Cocobolo, Brazilian Rosewood, African Blackwood along with domestic hardwoods such as Maple and Walnut are amongst our favorite back and side woods. There is no doubt, we have had hundreds of the finest guitars through our shop over the years!
It is important to point out that Collings guitars is unique amongst these brands as they not only excel with Acoustic guitars but their electric guitars are also coveted. They have a robust line of Collings electric guitars taking inspiration from classic designs but done in an extremely fine way.
Alembic guitars is a unique and special company that has specialized in custom electric and bass guitars since 1969. Unlike mass produced electrics such as the Gibsons or Fenders, the Alembic guitars have always featured active electronics, complex wood laminates and fine inlay. Their instruments have been perfected over the years and today they are absolute works of art with a beautifully unique tone and feel.
Another important brand for us is Bourgeois Guitars. Their unique bolt on neck system, top voicing and torrified woods set them apart from other brands. The way I often describe Bourgeois guitars to people is they have a wonderful throaty girth to the tone, similar to pre-war Martin guitars but with a little more clarity, articulation and note to note balance. We have been a top Bourgeois guitar dealer for years and have enjoyed access to their wood stash as we are only a short drive from their factory. Hand picking wood with Dana Bourgeois has been a rare privilege and results in our guitars being unique from other dealers offerings. See our youtube channel for a fascinating talk on tonewood and top tuning with Dana Bourgeois at our store.
A few other brands that we carry include National Resophonic guitars, Kamaka ukuleles and a few Yamaha guitars for kids and beginners.
